The King of Duck

I come again to this place, located in the central business area of jakarta, place of mingle glowing with the prosperity symbols. Especially this wide corner they call it hang out cum eat place, chinese they do serve, those duck grilled with honey taste lick-able seasoning made me worry. How come i can stop my body to expanding, those cholesterol hike make me wanna stop.

I just pick carrot juice as opener, i don't take french style dining manner, just consider my blood rate as my reference, yes they paid for it but i have all the right to choose, they invite me anyway. I wish i own and run this place so i can come here every day, not for eating, just to watch people stay in the table and wait those dishes come one by one like a parade.

The sound of spoon and fork meeting those plates like a music, it sounds jazz sometimes but in the other day it will appear as mozart symphony, the harmony of chaos. Those french wannabe can not compete with such natural way of dining, people take everything available on the table, and digest it at the speed of conversation.

I hate this place since it can ruin my savings sometimes, but for today i just keep on worry on my stomach (it always happen before and after the meals) and for now while i am eating, i just pay my respect to those slaughtered duck who bring us pleasure and can not wait to be here again.

Menjemput Humam di klub bulutangkis nya membuat bangga, melihat dia sudah besar bergabung dengan kumpulan yang lebih banyak dan lebih besar. Aktivitas fisik yang dijalani anak energik ini di rumah memang kurang, amat sangat tidak memadai. Itulah maka ia terlihat begitu excited, melakukan semua drill training, push up, pull up, shit up, lari, loncat, dan berbagai aktivitas diikutinya dengan senang.

Pelatihnya Pak Pram sempat bilang betapa semangatnya Humam hari ini, mengingatkan saya ketika bertemu gurunya miss olga di doha, yang bilang hal yang sama menggaris bawahi kesenangan anak ini berhitung dan membaca. Dan kini disaat Humam memasuki aktivitas baru yang lebih fisikal, maka betapa senangnya saya karena dia mengawalinya dengan baik.

Kalau ada waktu saya pingin menjemput dan menyemangatinya setiap ada kesempatan, setiap saat dia stretch potensi dirinya yang meluap luap itu. Masa kanak kanak nya terasa amat singkat , hanya beberapa tahun kesempatan kami orang tuanya untuk memanfaatkan masa kecil ini supaya bisa berharga untuknya, untuk melangkah ke masa depannya kelak.

The Science of Nothingness

To digest the meaning in our life experience we may use so many route to contemplate, sometimes i do it through self talking, on the other occasion i just read the relevant text and then eureka !! the meaning struck me. At this moment meaningful interaction and discourse may become more engaging to do. Text can be made of plain text, it is also can be materialized through many forms including hyper text or even video text. Thats why media potentially bring a lot of impact to self and society.

Lately in Indonesian being struck by another flash light, the text form was porn, and the actor was truly media frenzy public figures. At the first it was originated by hypertext web 2.0, and then the propagation of public crack become totally crack down after find it way through terrestrial free media. Indonesia as one of the most populated country right now is already free, but the nation root to tradition avoid people on discussing sexual matters in public (besides health and marriage), what really happened the demand is so big and the supply is uncontrollably wrong.

Who can control internet ? nobodies. And so here in Jakarta the internet spreading those inappropriate imagery, and the conventional media become catapult to falsely spread those explicit material to innocent children and youngsters while justifying those who make this problem at the first time.

I still believe freedom can balance it self, but lately the balancing power still lies in the unworthy. Moral like have no place and authority, believe is relative and people can interpret and spread any meanings as they will. I still worry about the pandora of freedom, since media runs not by itself or not commanded by heart, the monetary benefit of such still occupy the rest.  

Trust

Running business is not an easy adventure, its a venture of course, but beyond monetary things, people side of such business become more important, especially in the service business. Our customer is not our only focus before that we should treat our people inside the business and our partners humanly. I believe the key for that is trust and before gaining such luxury of trust we should try to build the building blocks of warm relations.

Five years a go i spent a week of my leave get in to the business of two entrepreneur, both are mature in the way they run people, they have a huge business built from scratch mainly using their personal reputation and hardwork. later i met a marketing director of one of the biggest IT co, he  also become a man of comfort giving us a sense of friendship beyond the technical nitty gritties, along our conversation he always avoid talking about the business he just made our lunch as a place to escape, in chinese customs people have to finish their food and talk about anything else before start 15 minutes business conclusion.

Trust become main ingredients, after that everything necessary will follow, will go through the right path as they should be.
